Messenger For Your iPhone By gene - August 24, 2010
Microsoft has recently launched MSN Live Messenger for the iPhone and iPad Touch in Canada, UK, France and, yes, the US.
It's available as a free download from this iTUNES LINK. You'll find there a slimmed down version of its big desktop brother. When the Windows Live Messenger iPhone application is launched you'll see Messenger with all your social updates from your friends. It's all in one easy view.
Then to start a conversation you switch over to the Chats tab. Creating a message with photo is especially easy, just take a picture with your iPhone or pick one from your local album.
The link to the latest Messenger Live is listed in the box above after MSN Block Checker. It's 2009 14.0.8117. Just to review the key features:
Talk to your Yahoo! friends:
You can now connect with your Yahoo! friends so you can forget about multiple accounts.
PC-to-PC Calling:
Speak your mind: Have a high-quality voice conversation using PC to PC Calling. Free.
Even better video conversations
Those old science fiction movies with TV phones? That's what the new Messenger will give you, only better: live, fullscreen (640x480) video.
Sharing Folders:
Drag a file onto a contact's name. You've just created a Sharing Folder. Now you and your contact can get to all the files in the folder any time, even if one of you is offline.
Text message their phones:
See a little mobile icon next to a friend's name? Just right click to send a text message.
Your two way, super powered address book
With Windows Live Contacts, whenever your contacts update their information, it will also be changed in your Messenger address book. Instantly. (Your Windows Live Mail address book will be updated, too.)
Windows Live Alerts:
Headlines, sports scores, traffic, or just about anything else you want to keep up with get pop-up notifications of things as they happen.
Windows Live Messenger 2009 14.0.8117 is licensed as Freeware for the Windows operating system / platform.
(0) Comments The Case of the Missing Apps By gene - April 12, 2010
Microsoft has stripped out some non-essential apps from Windows 7 to focus on the core operating system. Missing are Windows Mail, Windows Calendar, Windows Photo Gallery, and Windows Movie Maker.
And where are these apps now? They've been re-branded and moved inside the mega-app Windows Live. You know, the one that includes, among other MS apps, Windows Live Messenger.
How well do these versions work? Judging from the blogs, very well indeed! You can download all or some of the apps if you need any of them. Simply click Windows Live.
